How to activate WiFi call on your iPhone

If you ever find yourself in an area where mobile coverage is low or non-existent, you can use WiFi to make and receive phone calls on your iPhone. In addition, all major carriers support free WiFi calls, so it can also help you to save on your mobile phone’s monthly expenses. Here’s how to enable WiFi calling on your iPhone and how to use it to make and receive phone calls.

What is WiFi calling?

WiFi calls allow you to make or receive calls via WiFi using an existing device and phone number. This can extend the range of your operator’s services to the countryside, basements and wherever you can get a strong WiFi signal.

How to activate WiFi call on your iPhone

To activate the WiFi call on your iPhone, open it Settings the program. Then to Phone > Wi-Fi calls and replace the slider on the side Wi-Fi calls on this iPhone. Finally, click Activate.

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone. This app is with a gear icon. If you can’t find it, go to your home screen and scroll down. Then use the search bar at the top of your screen to search Settings.
  2. Then click Phone. To find this, you need to scroll down the page for a while.
  3. Next, select Wi-Fi calls.

  4. Then replace the side slider Wi-Fi calls on this iPhone. You will know it is active if it is green.
  5. Finally, click Activate in a pop-up message. At this point, you may be asked to enter your address.

By law, major mobile companies require you to enter an emergency address (or E911) before activating a WiFi call. This allows the emergency services to know where you are if you call 911 using a WiFi call.

To change your emergency address, go to this Settings> Phone> Wi-Fi calls and select Emergency address update. Then enter your street address, residential (optional) number, city, state, and zip code. Finally, click Save in the lower right corner.

How to use a WiFi call

Is the WiFi call free?
